Mr. Martin Glynn, Chairman of the Board of Directors of UBC Investment Management Trust Inc. (Company) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rajiv Silgardo as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, effective December 1, 2016.
In his role as President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Silgardo is responsible for all investment management programs including the selection and oversight of institutional investment fund managers and ensuring that the Company’s strategic and operating objectives are achieved.
Mr. Silgardo has over 30 years’ experience in the investment industry. He formerly served as Co-Chief Executive Officer of BMO Global Asset Management. Prior to joining BMO Financial Group in 2009, Mr. Silgardo spent 14 years with Barclays Global Investors (BGI). With $2.2 trillion in assets under management, BGI was the world’s largest and pre-eminent investment firm. Mr. Silgardo’s most recent position at BGI was as President and CEO in Canada. At both prior organizations, Mr. Silgardo led the formation and growth of market leading asset management businesses, delivering outstanding investment performance and client support as well as strong financial results to their shareholders.
Mr. Silgardo received his M.B.A. Finance from the University of North Carolina and is a CFA Charter holder. He received his Master’s degree in Commerce from the Delhi School of Economics and a B.Comm. (Honours) from Delhi University.
